Fan power outages are expected in Odesa. In this case, Covid-infected people who use concentrators may die, UNIAN reports with reference to mayor Hennady Trukhanov.

"Unfortunately, there is information that there will be fan blackouts," the mayor said.

Hennady Trukhanov expressed concern that turning off the lights could lead to tragic consequences for hundreds of citizens who use oxygen concentrators and are treated at home for coronavirus. The operation of this equipment depends entirely on electricity.

At the same time, he is not sure that the decision proposed by the power engineers not to turn off the houses where the hubs work will help. Often infected people who use home hubs live in different areas of the city, including the private sector. This means that the regional power will disconnect everyone indiscriminately.

"If we provide such information, the map will show that this is the whole city," the mayor added.

Earlier, the mayor of Kyiv Vitaly Klitschko warned residents of the capital about the threat of fan power outages in the city. The mayor of the capital noted that Kyiv may also face problems with heating.
