Explosion occurs in Odesa during football match, - media

An explosion occurred at Chornomorets Stadium in Odesa, southern Ukraine during a football match, UNN news agency reported.

‘The explosion happened during the second half. The fans threw firecrackers at the football pitch. The judge suspended the game due to the heavy haze. After the smoke cleared, the match between FC Chornomorets and FC Vorskla continued. None of the players or spectators were injured,’ reads the message.

The police of Odesa hasn’t commented on the explosion yet.

The match between FC Vorskla and FC Chornomorets ended with the score 2-1; the home team won.

As it was reported earlier, an escalator collapsed in Rome's underground on October 23. Among the casualties were football fans from Ukraine and Russia.

The incident occurred at Repubblica underground station when a crowd of fans used the escalator. About 30 people suffered, two of them ended up in a surgery. One man had his foot cut off in the accident.

Ukrainian and Russian supporters came to the Italian capital, as it hosted the UEFA Champions League game between AS Roma and CSKA Moscow. The home team won 3-0.
