The law enforcers confirmed that record of the conversation between Mikheil Saakashvili and Serhy Kurchenko was the original. Larysa Sarhan, the spokeswoman of Yury Lutsenko, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
'The Ukrainian scientific and research institute of the special equipment and legal expertise of the SBU held specific tests that confirmed the identity of voices recorded. The words and phrases that belong to them are personalized in the protocol on the result of the holding of the non-public investigative event', she wrote.
The spokeswoman noted that about 15 people that record the crime of Mikheil Saakashvili, Serhy Kurchenko, Oleksandr Dynnyk, Severion Danhadze were questioned as the witnesses and stay under the defense of the state.
'We understand that it is a very resonant case and people who witnessed have to be protected by the state and will not be announced until the decision of the court is made. if the court wants to hear them and insists on it then the closed hearing will be held to not reveal the witnesses as they are very important. Their testimonies are very important and will be presented in the court as the weighty arguments to confirm the criminal charges opened against the mentioned people', Andry Lysenko, the spokesperson of the Prosecutor General's Office claimed to 112 Ukraine.
As it was reported earlier Saakashvili was detained before as a suspect who supported the criminal group in the organization of the criminal activity. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, Saakashvili financed the protests to take power for the funds of the allies of Viktor Yanukovych, the former president of Ukraine. Later Saakashvili claimed that the accusations of the Prosecutor’s General Office of his ties with oligarch Sergy Kurchenko were fake.
