The first medical evacuation units start working in Donbas. An experimental unit is already on the frontline, the HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reported.
All crews have the necessary supplies and facilities that meet the requirements of the NATO standards.
The new medical doctrine was adopted by the Ukrainian government in October 2018. The aim of the doctrine is to lead to a single standard the organizational grounds of the work of medical services regardless of subordination, understanding of the reasons for decrease of operational capability of the military and ways of its increase, the view for prevention, diagnostics, medical aid, evacuation, treatment and rehabilitation of the military, prevention of the combat stress. Besides, the document provides for a territorial principle of a medical care for the military and its integration into Ukraine’s medical space.
It was specified that the standards of medical care remain the same both for peace and wartime. The introduction of the new standards, which comply with the policy of NATO medical care, will be conducted till 2020.
Besides, the document says that the production of medical supplies and medication and ground, water and aviation transport for evacuated injured will be promoted.
