In Kharkiv, the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained of the former members of the criminal organization "Oplot" involved in the organization of the clashes in Kharkiv city council as the SBU press service reported.


It is established that he is a citizen of Kharkiv, coach of the mixed martial arts participated in the mass clashes near the Kharkiv Mayor Office on June 20. Particularly he provoked the violent actions against the protesters.

In the past, a man was a member of the organization "Oplot". The perpetrator is an active member of the organized group that acts under cover of the number of the local security structures and participates in the provocations, racketeering and other actions that aim to destabilize the situation at the territory of the region.

Within the opened criminal proceeding, the SBU officers detained the perpetrator in Kharkiv when he prepared to move to the Russian Federation to hide from the Ukrainian justice.

As we reported that the mass unrest took place on June 20 before the session of the city council in Kharkiv. The unknown persons threw a smoke grenade to the building of the city council.

Reportedly, the incident took place before the start of the session. After Hennadiy Kernes, the Mayor of Kharkiv asked about MPs' wellbeing and he required to close the doors so the gas wouldn't get in.

Earlier the LGBT office was attacked in the Podilskiy valley in Kharkiv. According to the preliminary information, unknown in gas masks broke into the place, threw a smoke grenade, used the pepper spray and damaged the organization property.
