The Administration of the President of Ukraine confirms that everyone will be allowed to come to debates between President Petro Poroshenko and Volodymyr Zelensky at NSC Olympisky on April 14. Ukrinform reports this, referring to the Administration of the President.
“Everyone willing to see the election campaign (at least two parties will participate in the debate) of presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko, is allowed to come to the NSC Olympisky on Sunday, April 14. How many people will come – it is unknown. We will be happy to see everyone,” the report said.
According to the report, three microphones will be set there: one for a moderator, one for Petro Poroshenko, and one for Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Although, you have already know that he will not come. Nevertheless, I will wait for him until the end,” Poroshenko said.
On April 3, Zelensky replied to Poroshenko's invitation to participate in debates and put forward his conditions. He wanted to hold debates at NSC Olympisky. Poroshenko’s team said, “the President does not perform at stadiums”. A few hours later Poroshenko changed his mind and agreed to participate in the debates.
On April 7, Poroshenko stated that he waited for Volodymyr Zelensky on April 14 at NSC Olympisky.
In his turn, Zelensky reported that he wanted to hold the debates with Poroshenko on April 19.
On April 10, Olympic Stadium reported that it got two applications for holding debates from two presidential candidates Volodymyr Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko.
