The European Union expects the full investigation of the attack on 112 Ukraine TV channel building from the Ukrainian authorities as Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy stated.
Mogherini noted that the EU attaches great importance to the primacy of law and freedom of press in Ukraine. “These issues are raised with the authorities of Ukraine in numerous format and different levels for a long time,” the document said.
“The EU expects that the Ukrainians law enforcement authorities will investigate the attack on the building of the TV channel, which took place on July 13, 2019,” the message said.
Mogherini reminded that the Ukrainian National Police qualified the incident as the terrorist act and announced about the beginning of the criminal investigation.
“The Security Service of Ukraine has made clear that it cooperates with the National Police of Ukraine in this investigation,” she underlined.
As it was reported earlier, on the night of July 13, two unknown persons shelled the building of the 112 Ukraine TV channel on Dehtiarivska street 21G, Kyiv from a grenade launcher. Police qualify the incident as a terrorist act, the press service of the National Police reported.
