The ambassadors of the European Union countries decided to exclude Ukraine from the green list for travel amid a pandemic at a meeting on November 5, 2021as journalist of Radio Liberty Rikard Jozwiak reported on Twitter.
“EU ambassadors this morning decided to remove Ukraine from the EU's recommended COVID19 travel safe list. Will be formalized early next week,” Jozwiak reported.
At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that if Ukraine is excluded from the list of safe countries, the total closure of the EU borders will not take place.
“After Ukraine is excluded from the EU's green list, there will be no total closure of the EU borders. This is a recommendation, and the final decisions will be made by each individual EU country,” the message says.
Kuleba noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively working with partners to preserve maximum freedom of travel for Ukrainians.
As we reported, the expansion of Covid-19 in Ukraine may speed up, reaching 40-50,000 new cases per day.
