Europe is deceiving itself and Ukraine on visa-free regime. This was announced by the MP of European Parliament from Lithuania Petras Auštrevičius on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

The requirements of Ukraine on visa-free regime are grounded and the EU has not done its homework, according to him.

"This whole game around visa-free regime with Ukraine was in the bureaucratic line, there was a struggle between the institutions: the Parliament, the Council, and the Commission. And it is not over yet. But then political of the states intruded in this game.  As far as I know, France remains an unresolved issue, a country that is in a pre-election period now. All sides fear that in the issue of visa-free regime with Ukraine can affect the outcome of elections in France in some ways, so now there is this factor. For me it's enough to say that Europe is simply deceiving itself and Ukraine. It acts in the worst way, it does not preserve criteria of the course; what’s done has been done and we must recognize it, but Europe creates new obstacles and this, in my opinion, builds up great political uncertainty in the country. Ukraine needs stability, Ukraine should have clear European path and we suggest, but do not give, "he said.

He considers this situation a political deception.

“This uncertainty will hit the Europe itself. If we determine our relationship with our neighbors, this will come back to us,” he added.
