EU can extend "targeted" sanctions due to Russia's aggression in Ukraine

EU Council can extend sanctions for individuals and legal entities considered to be involved in undermining the integrity of Ukraine

EU Justice and Home Affairs Council is expected to take a decision Thursday in Brussels to extend targeted measures on individuals and organizations, which the European Union sees as "undermining the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine."

As it was reported earlier on September 6, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the EU countries agreed without discussion the EU Council recommendation on the next extension of these individual sanctions for 6 months. A diplomatic source in the EU institutions told Interfax that the decision of the council could be made on September 14.
