Etienne de Poncins, the Ambassador of France in Ukraine, was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to explain the words of French President Emmanuel Macron about "illegal Ukrainian networks" in his country. Press secretary of the diplomatic institutions Kateryna Zelenko stated that in the official message on the Ministry's website.
"Due to the appearance of the words in mass media which can belong to France's President Emmanuel Macron, the French Ambassador in Ukraine was invited for explanations," says the message.
The Ambassador noted that the French side does not have any complaints about Ukrainians who are traveling in France at the moment. Thus, the words of Emmanuel Macron related to problems of migration and legal employment were taken from the context.
Earlier, the meeting of the state leaders in the Normandy format could take place at the end of September 2019. Ambassador of France in Ukraine Etienne de Poncins reported that.
