Today, January 19, Christians of the Eastern rite celebrate the Baptism of the Lord, or Epiphany.
It is believed that the water blessed on January 18 and 19 is called Baptismal, or Jordanian, and has the same power and application: it is used to sanctify temples and houses, given to those gravely ill, and kept at home for a year until the next Epiphany.
