Superior of Orthodox Church of Ukraine Metropolitan Epifaniy told journalists about his impression and the topics of conversation during the meeting with the newly elected President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Epifaniy wrote this information on Facebook.
“…we have discussed the ways of fighting corruption and poverty,” Epifaniy wrote.
The Metropolitan pointed out that Volodymyr Zelensky made a positive impression on him.
He has stressed that the church is the spiritual foundation of the Ukrainian state, especially during times of war for Ukraine.
Epifaniy expressed the hope that his first meeting with the President-elect would form the basis for further cooperation between the church and the state.
As we reported earlier, President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky and the superior of Orthodox Church of Ukraine Metropolitan met in Kyiv. The press office of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine reported that on Facebook April 30.
Zelensky and Epifaniy met at the Golden-Domed Monastery in the Ukrainian capital.
