“On February 2, at 12:58 p.m., in Pervomaisk City, the fire occurred at one-storied Epicenter store at about 800 square meters,” the message said.
Preliminary, there are no victims and affected people. 22 people of the personnel and six units of equipment of the Emergency Service of Ukraine engaged in the fire elimination.
Later, the Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the fire at the Epicenter store was localized.
“The rescuers localized fire at one-storied Epicenter store in Pervomaisk that occurred on February 2. The fire localized at 14:20 p.m. at the square of 4,000 square meters,” the message said.
78 people of the personnel and 19 units of equipment engaged in the fire elimination.
Local MP Tymur Hlushko reported on Facebook that an arsonist of Epicenter store was detained in the Mykolaiv region.
Thus, he published a photo of a detained man who, possibly, involved in the fire.
The police confirmed that the fire starter was detained. Thus, the law enforcers established that a 37-year-old man came to the center with a knife and an ax. At the paint and varnish section, he started to pour flammable liquids. One of the center’s security guards tried to detain him; however, a man attacked him with an ax, set the center on fire, and fled.
Other security guards and the employees of police safety caught and detained the perpetrator outside and one more security guard was attacked by an ax. The police were called to the site.
Currently, a man was taken to the police unit; earlier, he was prosecuted.
The local mass media wrote that the Epicenter store was opened in Pervomaisk on December 19, 2020.
On January 21, in Kharkiv, the two-story building was caught on fire. It was reequipped for the nursing home. The tragedy resulted in the death of 15 people.
