European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE Committee) voted for granting visa-free regime for Ukraine. This was reported by the journalist of Radio Svoboda Rikard Jozwiak on his Twitter page.
“The EP's civil liberties committee voted in favour of visa liberalization for Ukraine. 39 voted for, 1 abstention, 4 against,” he wrote.
Earlier it was reported that European Parliament will consider visa liberalization for Ukraine today. “It’s unlikely that opponents’ number will be enough to block the decision,” the journalist reported.
European Parliament will vote for the decision on April 5, EU Council will vote on May 11. Then, Ukraine citizens will no longer need visas for short trips to Europe starting from June 11.
