The British have been on a serious upswing in gaming over the past few years. After the semifinals of the World Cup, the "lions" confidently won the group against the Czech Republic, Kosovo, Bulgaria, and Montenegro. After that, the British still fought with Belgium in the League of Nations. In the selection for the 2022 World Cup, we won three starting fights.

This season England has proven that this is where the best teams in the world play. Three of the four European finalists were English. And the English players played an important role in this success, not just the expensive legionnaires. Among the entire cohort of current English tops, I would like to highlight Philip Foden.

The Manchester City alumnus, at the age of 21, has already become the champion of England three times, played in the Champions League final, and scored 2 goals in 3 matches for the national team. He constantly plays at the base of his club and scores 16 goals per season.

Main coach

Gareth Southgate came to work with the main team of the country through the youth team. In 2013, he led the U-21 team, which he immediately led to the European Championship. In 2016, he was forced to replace Sam Elerdice as coach of the national team. And from that moment on, Southgate did not leave his place.

At first, he confidently led the “lions” to the world championship, after which he became a full-fledged coach of the national team without the prefix “acting”. ... In Russia, England played on a level, reaching the semifinals. The game of the English national team looked bright and fast, there are many young and talented players in the squad. This is exactly what the England team looks like now, which is quite capable of winning the Euro.

Way to Euro

The vice-world champions qualified for the Euro without any problems, having won their group. The Croats lost only once - in Hungary. After that, Croatia failed to start in the League of Nations, but stayed in the elite division. The Croats began the selection for the World Cup with a defeat in Slovenia, followed by victories over Cyprus and Malta.

Luka Modric, at 35, continues to be one of the best midfielders in the world. Injuries and age do not add physical data to Luca, but he still has a pass and an incredible vision of the field. And let him continue to be one of the leaders of Real Madrid.

After a gorgeous performance at the World Cup and receiving the Golden Ball, Modric began to fail in efficiency. But he remains one of the smartest footballers of our time and continues to play. Although it does not pull out the whole matches. But he made his 7 goals and 6 assists.

Main coach

54-year-old Zlatko Dalich, after a successful performance at the World Cup, continued to work with the national team. Although various European top and near-top clubs were interested in the services of the vice-champion of the world. And judging by the mood, he intends to work out his contract, which was signed in 2022.

Croatia is the biggest team in Dalic's career. Both his vision of football and the selection of players allow his team to play fast, quality football. Surely Dalich would not have refused the help of Ivan Rakitic, who ended his career in the national team.

Team of the Czech Republic

Goalkeepers: Aleš Mandous (Sigma), Jiri Pavlenka (Werder Bremen), Tomas Vaclik (Sevilla).

Defenders: Jan Borzhil (Slavia Prague), Jakub Brabec (Victoria), Vladimir Tsoufal (West Ham), Ondrej Chelustka (Sparta), Pavel Kaderzhabek (Hoffenheim), Tomas Kalas (Bristol) ), Aleš Mateiu ("Brescia"), David Zima ("Slavia" Prague)

Forwards: Michael Krmenczyk (PAOK), Tomasz Pekgart (Legia), Patrick Schick (Bayer Leverkusen), Matej Vydra (Burnley).

Way to Euro

By the will of the lot, the Czech national team, after becoming the second in their group after the England national team, got to the Euro in the same group with the British. It was the Czechs who inflicted the only defeat on Southgate's wards in that selection. In the League of Nations, it was not possible to perform successfully, but the start of the World Cup qualification for the Czechs was a success - a victory over Estonia, a draw with Belgium, and a minimal defeat for Wales.

Group A

England - 21 points

Czech Republic - 15

Kosovo - 11

Bulgaria - 6

Montenegro - 3

Despite the good results, the Czech Republic national team is a great team without particularly bright stars. One of the most notable Czech players is Tomas Soucek of West Ham. Our teammate Andrey Yarmolenko has shown himself very well in England this season. Firstly, West Ham itself has been visible in the Premier League for their fight for the Champions League. Secondly, Soucek himself scored ten goals in a season, breaking the club record for midfielders.

As part of the national team, Soucek has not yet gained such a move. But in the spring he scored a hat-trick against Estonia. And if Suochek is closed, then the fans are waiting for leadership qualities from Patrick Schick of Bayer. In Rome, he did not work at all, in “Leipzig” you can’t call the transfer successful either, but in “Bayer” Patrick seems to have found his place. Although the statistics have room to grow - 9 goals in 29 matches.

Main coach

Whatever the situation in Czech football, the local federation always finds local specialists who, with their work in the national team, show that great coaches remain in the Czech Republic. Jaroslav Shiglavy became the head of the Czech national team in 2018, although he worked at the headquarters of the national team back in 2003-2009.

Shiglavy received an independent invitation to lead the national team after he won the Czech championship twice. First Shiglavy won with the Prague “Slavia”, after which he got gold for the modest “Slovan”. It was the success in working with a small club, from which Shiglavy was able to squeeze the maximum result, that convinced the federation of the correctness of inviting the 59-year-old specialist to the national team. And entering the Euro only confirms the correctness of the choice.

Scottish national team

Goalkeepers: Craig Gordon (Heart of Midlothian), David Marshall (Derby County, England), John McLaughlin (Rangers).

Defenders: Liam Cooper (Leeds, England), Declan Gallagher (Motherwell), Grant Hanley (Norwich, England), Jack Hendry (Ostend, Belgium), Scott McKenna (Nottingham Forest, England) , Stephen O'Donnell (Motherwell), Nathan Patterson (Rangers), Andy Robertson (Liverpool, England), Greg Taylor (Celtic), Kieran Tierney (Arsenal London).

Midfielders: Stuart Armstrong (Southampton, England), Ryan Christie (Celtic), John Fleck (Sheffield United, England), Billy Gilmore (Chelsea, England), John McGinn, (Aston Villa, England), Callum McGregor (Celtic), Scott McTominay (Manchester United, England), David Turnbull (Celtic).

Forwards: Che Adams (Southampton, England), Lyndon Dykes (Queens Park Rangers, England), James Forrest (Celtic), Ryan Fraser (Newcastle, England), Kevin Nisbet (Hibernian, Scotland).

Way to Euro

The Scots in qualifying for the Euro took third place in the group with Belgium and Russia. But the brutes won their group in the League of Nations, which left them a chance to make their way to the European Championship through the playoff sieve. In it, Scotland coped with the Israel national team on penalties, and then also beat Serbia in a penalty shootout and entered the Euro for the first time since 1998.

1/2 finals, Scotland 0-0 Israel (5-3 on penalties)

Final, Serbia 1-1 Scotland (4-5 on penalties)

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson is the star of the current Scottish squad. Transfermarkt estimates it at 65 million euros. The 27-year-old defender has had a very busy season with over 50 appearances this game year. The Scotsman has one goal and eight assists.

Robertson is Scotland's main football hope. It is on the quality of his flank passes, innings that the result of the team will largely depend. And although the Scots have other notable footballers - Scott McTominay, Kieran Tierney, or John McGinn, it is from Robertson that they will expect a stable high-quality game.

Main coach

Stephen Clarke spent most of his playing career at Chelsea, having played for the Blue in over 300 appearances. In the late 90s he began coaching, getting into the headquarters of Newcastle, Chelsea, West Ham, Liverpool, and West Brom. In 2012, he tried independent work, heading West Bromwich. After him, there was another attempt to coach Reading.

In 2017, Clark returned to his homeland, where he headed Kilmarnock. Taking the humble club to third place, which hadn't happened to them for 50 years, Steve Clarke was invited to lead the national team. And with the task of assembling a strong team of a couple of Premier League stars and a group of players of a class below he coped with a bang. The Scots know how to play modern fast-paced football, but prefer to give up the initiative and wait for the classic British flank counterattacks.

Forecast of 112ua.tv

England looks like the clear favorite of the group. But each of the rivals is able to beat the other, which complicates the forecast. It is worth noting that one England-Scotland standoff in the Euro can be unpredictable. Although all the same, the British with such a selection of players are obliged to take first place. Another place in the playoffs will be given to Croatia, which has a stronger roster compared to other rivals. Czechs and Scots can count on a potential exit from third place and the opportunity to show themselves in a big tournament.
