Ukraine’s Parliament entrusted the temporary parliamentary commission on investigation of embezzlement in Armed Forces to consider violations in 2018-2019 as well.

MPs distributed the authority of the commission to investigate facts of violations in purchases in the defense sector in 2018-2019 in particular.
According to the draft regulation, the temporary parliamentary commission has to carry out public session along with the representatives of the Prosecutor General Office, Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), and Defence Ministry, Ukroboronprom state enterprise and other officials on the investigation of misuse in the defence sector.
The Verkhovna Rada in its turn has to listen to the report of the commission on their work.
The members of the defence, anti-corruption committees and the committee of law enforcement sector are recommended to join the temporary parliamentary commission in this investigation.
Earlier, State Fiscal Service reported $816,000 damages from corruption during supplying smuggled Russian spare parts to Ukroboronprom plants by OPTIMUMSPECPETAIL LLC. Iron, which was then used to repair military equipment from the area of hostilities, has been delivered to the enterprise.
As we reported earlier, Kremlin commented on the scandal with smuggling of military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The press secretary of the president of Russian Federation Dmitry Pesov claimed this to be absurd, as such equipment is under special control.
“No, the whole turnover of dual-use production is under special control. This special control is conducted in order to prevent uncontrolled transporting of this production, this special equipment”, - Peskov emphasized.
February 25, journalist investigations Bihus.Info, Nashi Hroshi program alleged that Igor Gladkovsky, the son of close Poroshenko ally Oleh Gladkovsky, deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, organized a corruption scheme to smuggle spare military-equipment parts from Russia in 2015. State defense facilities purchased the smuggled spare parts from private companies linked to Hladkovsky and his friends at highly inflated prices. Ukroboronprom state concern, which supervises defense industry production facilities, knew the origin of the smuggled parts but agreed to purchase them.
Igor Gladkovsky, along with Vitaliy Zhukov (former advisor of “Ukroboronprom” Director, the member of supervisory council of “Meridian” company till 2013, former assistant of Yuriy Tereshchenko, ex-Head of State Service of export control, Oleg Gladkovsky’s friend, - ed.) and Andriy Rogoza (CEO of “Inter Steel Ltd.”, - ed.) were supplying smuggled Russian components and components from the Ukrainian military units through straw companies at prices 2-4 times higher than market ones.
Ukrainian presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko has initiated impeachment proceedings against Poroshenko, as his company was involved as a straw company.
