The voting at the Ukrainian Antarctic Vernadsky Research Base has begun on March 31 at 8:00 a.m. at local, Argentinean time (2:00 p.m. at Kyiv time) and finished in an hour.
“34 citizens, 11 members of the 23rd Ukrainian Antarctic expedition and 23 members of the seasonal unit of the scientists, participated in the voting in the presidential elections of Ukraine, which took place at the Antarctic Vernadsky Research Base. As of 3:40 p.m. at Kyiv time, the scan-copy of the protocol on the results of the voting will be sent on the internet to the Central Election Commission,” the message said.
The originals of the ballots and protocols are sealed and will be passed to the Central Election Commission after the rotation of the permanent of the Antarctic expedition, approximately in the second half of April, 2019.
As we reported, the voters' turnout in the presidential elections in Ukraine was 44,5% as of 3 p.m.
The election campaign has officially started on December 31, 2018. There are 39 candidates in the ballots and over 35.6 million voters. Over 315,000 of the voters changed the place of the registration for voting.
