Elections-2019: Ukrainian presidential candidate Lyashko shows his ballot paper

Ukrainian presidential candidate Oleg Lyashko showed his ballot paper to journalists and other voters. The Voters Committee reports this on Facebook.  

 “Oleg Lyashko, the presidential candidate, demonstrated his ballot paper with his voting result to TV journalists and other people during elections at one of the polling stations”, - the observers stated.

According to the valid law on Elections of the president of Ukraine, photo and video fixation of the results of the expression of voters’ will, as well as the demonstration of the results of expression of voters’ will at the polling station, is a violation of the secrecy of voting. The punishment for the offense under article 159 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is a fine of 100-300 times the minimum non-taxable income of citizens, correctional labor for a term up to two years, or arrest up to three years.

The National Police of Ukraine received over 25 claims concerning the electoral process in Ukraine. 

According to the law enforcers, seven violations were connected with the unlawful agitation, two voters tried to take a photo of their ballot papers in Kirovohrad and Zaporizhia regions, one vote buying case was registered in Zakarpattia region, and the attempt of taking the ballot paper away took place in Zhytomyr region.   

Over 700 administrative proceedings have been launched since the beginning of the election campaign.
