The frontline soldiers of the Joint Forces operation were the first to vote in the Donbas conflict zone, while their comrades were guarding the front and changing in turns. The press service of the JFO (HQ) reports this on Facebook.
According to the report, the voting began at 8:00 AM and will last till 8:00 PM. The servicemen are voting at the polling stations, which were created by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“Totally, there are 90 special polling stations in the Joint Forces operation: 14 in Luhansk region and 65 in Donetsk region. The electoral process is organized in accordance with the valid legislature. No incidents have been spotted,” the report said.
Earlier, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine has created 199 district election commissions for the upcoming presidential election on March 31.
The election campaign has officially started on December 31, 2018. There are 39 candidates in the ballots and over 35.6 million voters. Over 315,000 of the voters changed the place of the registration for voting.
