Elections 2019: CEC created 199 district election commissions

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine has created 199 district election commissions for the upcoming presidential election on March 31. This was reported by the press service of the CEC.

"Having considered applications of candidates for the presidency in Ukraine regarding candidacies to the district election commissions, the CEC formed 199 district election commissions for the regular presidential elections in Ukraine on March 31, 2019," the statement reads.

As it was reported earlier, presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled for March 31, 2019. The election campaign has officially started on December 31, 2018. Registration of the candidates was closed on February 4, 2019, and on February 9, the final list of presidential candidates has appeared. The candidates would be able to withdraw their candidacy until March 7, 2019. Ukraine's CEC has registered 44 presidential candidates.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced he is going to give an order to the State Border Guard Service not to let Russian observers to the presidential elections on March 31. He explained that this way he wants to physically prevent Russians from coming to Ukraine as observers from the international organizations.

The Verkhovna Rada registered the bill No.9524 which calls for ruling out the participation of the observers from the aggressor state in the presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine.
