Eight people prosecuted for the embezzlement of $644,937 during the implementation of Wall project as 112 Ukraine reported citing the Head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) Artem Sytnyk.

“The well-known Wall project, the great deal of work was done by the detectives and prosecutors. As for today, one of the cases of embezzlement for almost $644,937 was established and proven. Other cases are to be established. Eight suspects on this case are prosecuted. The investigation is finished and the familiarizing with the materials of the criminal proceeding takes place,” Sytnyk said.

As we reported the project “Wall” with Russia is now implemented by 30%.

It is planned to allocate $14.8 million for building of the wall in 2019. It is also planned to deploy enough video-control complexes and alarm; install 50 km of the anti-vehicle moats, 9,5 km of the a chain-link fence, almost 48 km of the concertina-wire fence, pave 65,8 km of the lateral communication routes, equip 40 crossings across the routes through difficult parts (gullies, ditch and so on), fulfill works on the reconstruction of the rooms for the detachments for the border guards at three objects and number of other important works.
