The bishop’s council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Churches will take place in December 2018 as the press service of the Ecumenical Patriarchate reported.
At the same time, Constantinople confirms its decision to provide Tomos on autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
The particular date will be called during the session of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on November 27-29, 2018.
On October 11, the Synodus lifted the anathema from Filaret, head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyivan Patriarchate, and Makariy, Primate of Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Filaret stated that united Jubilee Bishops' Council would take place soon to create a unified Ukrainian local church.
In addition, the Ecumenical Patriarchate recognized Russia’s Orthodox Church annexation of Kyiv metropole in 1686.
