E-declaration system to work despite Constitutional Court’s decision, - Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the system of the electronic declaration of incomes will work despite the decision of the Constitutional Court as the President’s Office reported.

“I would proceed to the most important topic that nobody has any doubts about. The system of the electronic declaration in Ukraine will work. The bills for its restoration should be prepared and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada as urgent,” the president said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky convened an urgent meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to determine measures for the immediate response of the state to threats to national security.

As we reported, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine blocked the implementation of local election results. The court denied the NACP access to state registers which are used to verify declarations of candidates for senior positions in state bodies. In this regard, no head can be officially appointed.

Earlier, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized the norm about the criminal responsibility for false declaration unconstitutional. According to the court’s decision, the criminal responsibility for false declaration is ‘excessive punishment’ for a person. The punishment for false declaration is considered ‘disproportional to the inflicted harm’.
