Senate of Netherlands (Upper Chamber) will discuss the ratification of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine today, on May 23. The consideration of the ratification is on the agenda of the plenary session, reports European Truth.
According to the agenda, the consideration of Ukrainian issue will start at 13:45 local time (14:45 Kyiv time). The representatives of political authorities will have 2 hours 30 minutes to hold speeches.
It is expected that the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte will attend the debates and the Foreign Minister of the country Bert Koenders.
After today’s debates, there will be voting which will take place on May 30.
The approval of the ratification by the Netherlands will be the last legal step which will open the way for the official launch of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
Earlier it was reported that Senate of the Netherlands will hold debates on the ratification of Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. The Netherlands is the only EU country that has not completed the procedure for ratifying this document.
