Drugs transit to Ukraine impeded in Azerbaijan

The officers of Azerbaijan Customs Service impeded the attempt to transit a consignment of drugs from Iran to Ukraine, as the Interfax- Azerbaijan reported referring to State Customs Committee.

As it is reported, the consignment of drugs was carried in Mercedes-Benz Axor, which was pulled over at Astara customs station.

“The vehicle was transporting 800 sacks of sodium carbonate sent by an Iranian company Mojtaba Shage Azar to a Ukrainian one - LLC Lisintra. The X-ray inspection aroused suspicion concerning the cargo. Later, it was decided to conduct a cynological inspection, which revealed 25 plastic bags with drugs weighing 260 kg,” the representatives of the Customs Committee inform.

An Azerbaijanian citizen was driving the truck.

The expertise defined that the drugs were produced home-made.
