The fire occurred at the dormitory at Obuhivska Street, Kyiv where the internally displaced persons from Donbas live. The Chief Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this.

The rescuers got the message on the fire in the three-storied house at 3:39 am.

‘It was established on the arrival of the firemen that the roof in the area of 300 square meters is on fire. The fire was localized at 5:58 a.m. and it was liquidated at 6:38 am’, the message said.

It is noted that the liquidation of the fire was complicated due to the absence of the working fire hydrant near the building. The rescuers had to constantly bring up water to choke fire.

Also, they succeed to prevent the flame spreading to the first and the second floor of the house. Moreover, they endured two gas vessels to prevent the possible explosion.

18 units of the main and special equipment and 67 people of the personal staff were drawn in the extinction.

According to the State Emergency Service, there are no casualties.

Preliminary, 35 IDPs from Donbas lived on the first floor of the building.

According to the correspondent of 112 Ukraine, 1.5-years old child was in the house.

The citizens of the building slept at the moment of the fire occurrence. The majority of them ran out of the building and took the documents. They confirmed that they have no place to live.
