Hurricane Dorian, which is moving from the Atlantic Ocean in the direction of Florida State has strengthened up to category 4 - out of 5 possible, BBC reported. The authorities of the Bahamas ordered to evacuate people from the islands, U.S. President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency.
The hurricane is moving at the speed of nearly 130mph.
Hurricane Dorian is also expected to drop up to 12in (30cm) of rain on the coastal U.S., with some areas getting as much as 18in.
Experts are predicting the hurricane will reach Florida coast next Monday.
Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency for the whole state, as has President Donald Trump.
"We urge all Floridians to have seven days' worth of food, medicine and water," DeSantis said.
The State Governor called in 2500 National Guard troops, and 1500 more are still waiting for the orders.
People are trying to move from Florida until Orlando international airport closes on Monday. The leadership of the airport has increased the number of available flights.
