The veteran of the Ant-Terrorist Operation in Donbas who participated in defending Donetsk airport Dmytro Verbych was attacked in Kyiv on Kostiantynivska Street. This was reported on the Kyiv police website.
“One of the attackers hit the victim with a sharp object in the back and used a gas cartridge. At the moment, he the man is in the hospital, where he is provided with necessary medical help,” the message says.
The friends of Verbych arrived at the site, applied a bandage and took him to the hospital. This was reported by Yevhenia Seraya on Facebook.
“We came within a few minutes. We had a medical pack in the car so we applied a bandage and took him to the regional hospital. At the moment, his state is stable,” she wrote.
She noted that 4 people attacked Verbych, but at the same time police reports of 5 attackers – three men and two women. They were recorded by the CCTV.
The police are asking to inform them if somebody recognizes the offenders.
The question of legal qualification of the incident is being decided now.
As it was reported earlier, the militants used banned weapons 17 times and tried to displace the Armed Forces of Ukraine units from their positions, one Ukrainian soldier went missing in Donbas. Ukrainian units, which are involved in the Joint Forces Operation, gave an appropriate response in the battle.
Besides, according to the HQ, one Ukrainian military servicemen went missing near Shyrokyne (Donetsk region) after the enemy’s bombardment. The Command is taking measures to find him.
The representatives of JFO headquarters reported that there were no casualties and injured as at 17:00. The casualties of the enemy’s side are being defined.
