September 6, Donbas militants carried out targeted shelling of Ukrainian positions in the area of the village of Krasnohorivka. As a result of the shelling, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was wounded, the press service of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters reported.
"On September 6, 2020, on the 42nd day of a full and comprehensive ceasefire, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated the agreements reached by the Trilateral Contact Group and carried out targeted shelling of Ukrainian positions," the message says.
The militants opened fire from an automatic grenade launcher at a unit of the Joint Forces in the area of the settlement of Krasnohorivka.
As a result of the shelling, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was eliminating the consequences of the fire at the position, was wounded. He was promptly provided with first aid and evacuated to a medical institution.
"Such insolence of the enemy indicates that Russia is aimed at disrupting the agreements that were reached by the Trilateral Contact Group on July 22, 2020. Today's shelling once again proves that the self-proclaimed Donbas leadership does not intend to achieve peace," headquarters reports.
Also, the headquarters of the JFO added that with the next shelling of Ukrainian positions, "the combined forces will provide an adequate rebuff to the enemy from all available forces and means."
As reported in the OSCE, illegal armed groups have been deploying weapons and military equipment in direct proximity to the contact line in the Donbas for a week, which is a fact of violation of the agreements reached.
