The vaccination against Covid-19 started in Ukraine on Wednesday, February 24. The first person to receive the vaccine was Yevhen Horenko, a resuscitator at the Cherkasy Regional Hospital. This was announced by the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration Oleksandr Skichko on his Facebook page.
"Meet, this is Horenko Yevhen. He was the first in Ukraine to be vaccinated against Covid. This is a resuscitation doctor from Cherkasy, who works in the covid department of the Cherkasy Regional Hospital," the statement said.
"As all around Ukraine, we will have a cascading model of vaccination, which provides for the work of mobile teams in a certain sequential order. We strictly monitor the temperature for storage of the vaccine: from + 2 ° to + 8 ° C," itis noted.
Skichko also said that that vaccination against coronavirus was voluntary and free. Vaccination will take place in 5 stages: in stage I, vaccinations will be given to health workers and staff who provide care to patients with covid; on the II - people with an extremely high risk of infection (social workers, people over 80 years old, other health workers); on III - people with a high risk of infection and those who work in the Emergency Service, SBU, police, educational institutions; at the IV stage - people aged from 60 to 64 years, adults with concomitant diseases. Stage V - all other categories of the population.
