Diplomatic consultations are currently being held on the possibility of Pope Francis' visit to Ukraine. This was stated by Ambassador of Ukraine to the Vatican Andriy Yurash in an interview with Suspіlne.
"Diplomatic consultations are being held, and we are receiving signals that the Pope will be ready to pay such a visit. As for the framework, it is clear that they are dictated by the objective criteria of this visit," the diplomat said.
According to him, Pope Francis will want to lead the service upon his arrival.
"And the period from April to October is optimal to gather large groups of believers to participate in worship," Andriy Yurash said.
He said that when the Pope, especially Pope Francis, comes to any country, he always emphasizes that he comes to the whole society.
"Therefore, the scale of this visit is much wider than the formal indicators that can describe, for example, the parameters of the Catholic community in Ukrainian society. This is an event of national, national importance," the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Vatican said.
