Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that depending on the dynamics of the coronavirus disease in Ukraine, the quarantine exit stages may begin simultaneously. The official wrote this on his Facebook page.
According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers hopes that the easing of lockdown restrictions will begin on May 11, and the next steps will not be tied to specific dates.
“That is, if the government sees that the number of cases is decreasing, then the second, third or fourth stages can begin at the same time. It will not be necessary to wait for 10 or 20 days to launch the next stage,” the Prime Minister said.
Denys Shmygal also emphasized that if a significant increase in the number of cases is observed in the country, then quarantine measures can be strengthened again.
At the same time, he noted that each ministry and department was instructed to formulate detailed explanations of the conditions under which the facilities to be opened should work.
"The Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Health have already developed clear working criteria and algorithms for controlling food markets. This will enable this Wednesday to decide to open more than 280 markets throughout Ukraine. This list can be expanded if other markets can provide adequate working conditions," Shmygal said.
He noted that at certain stages it is planned to open some institutions with restrictions, which will mitigate at each stage. In particular, this applies to educational institutions, cafes, gyms.
As we reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has published a plan for releasing Ukraine from the lockdown, which the government previously extended until May 11.
The Premier noted that the starting point for the implementation of this plan may be observed on May 11, subject to a favorable epidemic situation in the country.
