Over the past weekend, three Ukrainian citizens tried to leave Belarus in Machro checkpoint with fake Green Card Liability Insurances for Motor Vehicles, as the press office of the State’s Border Committee of Belarus reports.
“The first of the three detained was a 29-years-old resident of Zakarpattia region. The man submitted his documents for border control in the early morning on May 4. Within the control procedure, the inspector had suspicions concerning the validity of the insurance for the car. The check demonstrated that the Green Card is fake,” the message says.
It was also noted that two similar cases happened on May 6. All of the foreigner’s attempts to leave Belarus without any insurance ended with detentions.
The Ukrainian citizens have been subjected to administrative liability on the article of Belarusian Code on Administrative Offences (participation in road traffic of a vehicle outside of Belarus without the agreement on the compulsory insurance of the civil liability of vehicle owners).
The Criminal Code provides liability in the form of two years imprisonment for using fake documents when crossing the border.
Earlier, Belarusian border guards detained Ukrainian citizen for violating rules of stay in Belarus. It was a 37-years-old resident of Chernivtsi region.
