Pavlo Sharoyko, a Ukrainian journalist who has been detained in Belarus over a month ago, was charged with espionage, as Dmitriy Pobiarzhin, an official representative of Belarus’s KGB told BelaPAN, according to Radio Liberty.
As it was reported earlier, Pavlo Sharoyko, a reporter for Ukrainian Radio, was detained in Belarus. Belarusian KGB claimed he collected data on Russian military infrastructure in Belarus.
A piece of Sharoyko’s interrogation was published, in which he confessed to having worked for the military intelligence; according to the story, he resigned in 2009, but two years later, he was reinstated as a reserve officer.
