Stanislav Yezhov, the assistant of Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine detained on suspicion in the espionage in the favor of Russia worked at the meetings with the world leaders. BBC Ukraine reported this citing the source from the Ukrainian government.
According to BBC Ukraine, Yezhov, particularly worked at the meetings with Theresa May, the UK Prime Minister and Joe Biden, the former US Vice President.
He translated the talk of the premiers during the official visit of Groysman to London in July 2017. Also, he worked at the meetings with Joe Biden, Head of the Estonian government and Patriarch of Jerusalem.
Also, Anton Herashchenko, the MP reported to 112 Ukraine that Groysman was informed on the person from his entourage that works in favor of Russia.
‘Volodymyr Groysman was informed by the SBU that there is a person from his entourage that works in favor of Russia. This person was intentionally misinformed and the messages that he sent to Russia were tapped. He executed the talks of Groysman in the reports and sent them to Russia’, Herashchenko noted.
Also, the MP reported that Yezhov was enrolled by the Russian special services a few years ago when he worked at the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington.
‘His wife is Russian and probably he was intimidated by the questions connected to the relatives of his wife or he could be discredited in front of his family or state service. We will get to know it during the investigation’, Herashchenko said.
He also added that Yezhov worked with Russia during the last two years.
As it was reported earlier counter-intelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) uncovered an official of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers who was working in the interests of the intelligence of Russia.
Later it was reported that the SBU detained Stanislav Yezhov, the assistant of Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The law enforcers established that the official was recruited by the Russian intelligence during his long business trip abroad. The operatives of the SBU documented that the official used special equipment to collect information about the activity of the governmental bodies as a task of Russian handlers. The perpetrator transmitted the obtained data through electronic channels of communication.
Kremlin claimed that it does not possess information on the detention of Stanislav Yezhov, the assistant of Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine that is accused of the state treason in favor of Russia.
The service added that the spy was detained at his workplace. A criminal case was opened against him on the suspicion of high treason.
