Citizens detained on the occupied territories of Donbas before the conflict's beginning will be transferred to Ukraine in early February, as Ukraine’s Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova wrote on Facebook.

“We have discussed the question of the transfer of the Ukrainians who were detained before the conflict. Another transfer will be conducted on the first week of February,” Denisova wrote.

The Ombudsman has met with the Coordinator of the OSCE Monitoring Mission in a humanitarian subgroup in the Trilateral Contact Group, Ambassador Tony Frisch.

“The possibility of the exchange remains one of the main issues. Therefore, me and Mr. Frisch noted that we were ready to the exchange of any format and we are trying to do that,” she noted.

As it was reported, 42 prisoners were transferred to Ukraine-controlled territory from Luhansk.
