The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police will create the “department of war” for investigation of the crimes tied with the military aggression of Russia as Interfax-Ukraine reported citing Prosecutor General Iryna Venedyktova.
“Such departments as our “department of war” will be created in the SBU and the National Police. It is important to have one line. It is also important to raise this issue on Ilovaisk tragedy,” she said.
Thus, the agreement on the cooperation for the creation of joint special departments for work on cases of military crimes was signed on July 14.
The new departments should start to work until the end of the summer and the investigators will get the materials on criminal proceedings tied with the crimes committed in terms of the armed conflict.
As we reported, citizens of Ukraine organized the provision of sanatorium and resort services to militants and Russian servicemen in the annexed Crimea. Investigators found that the scheme was organized by the management of one of the sanatoriums located in Saki. After the temporary annexation of the peninsula, the health resort was re-registered in the bodies of the occupation administration and an agreement was signed with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
