The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Denys Shmyhal to the post of Minister for Regional Development of Ukraine. 278 MPs supported the draft decision #2768 as 112 Ukraine reported.

Shmyhal took an oath of vice-prime minister at the Verkhovna Rada.

Denys Shmyhal is the Chair of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. Earlier, he headed Burshtyn thermal power station. Previously, he was the head of the economic development, trade and industry department of Lviv Regional State Administration and he was deputy head of the chief department of Fiscal Service in the Lviv region.

Earlier, the Ukrainian parliament dismissed Alyona Babak from the post of Minister for Regional Development of Ukraine. 226 MPs supported the decision. The ground for the dismissal of Babak was her persona desire.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Roman Truba from the post of the Director of the State Investigation Bureau (SIB). Iryna Venediktova became the Acting Director of the State Investigation Bureau.
