Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark Mette Frederiksen announced country's readiness to supply 500,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to Ukraine. She said this during a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the press service of the President's Office reports.
"Denmark is willing to deliver 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Ukraine" the message says.
What kind of drug Denmark plans to deliver to Ukraine has not been reported.
The interlocutors discussed practical cooperation in support of Ukraine's efforts towards NATO membership and in the framework of European integration.
Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the invitation to the Prime Minister of Denmark to visit Ukraine to participate in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and in the events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has announced a plan to help countries in need in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The United States plans to purchase 500 million doses for low-income countries at its own expense.
According to Biden, Pfizer vaccines, which the United States plans to buy at its own expense, will save millions of lives around the world.
