In the occupied territories of Donbas - the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic, the supply of Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V is expected soon. This is reported by Interfax with reference to representatives of the occupation authorities in Luhansk region.
"The vaccine against Covid-19 can be delivered in the coming days," the message informs.
According to a December statement by the leaders of the so-called Republics Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin, the first batch of the Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine should arrive during January 2021.
In the occupied part of the Luhansk region, healthcare workers and certain categories of law enforcement officers who are at risk will be vaccinated against coronavirus in the first place.
On December 30, 2020, the Kharkiv company BioLek, which is one of the leaders of the pharmaceutical industry in Ukraine, applied to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health with an application for state registration of a medical product - Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine to ensure its vaccination of Ukrainian citizens.
