Chief of Ukrainian National Police announced her resignation. This was announced on a briefing broadcast by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.

“I announce my resignation,” she said.

Dekanoidze stated that they did not manage to root out corruption in National Police. She noted that feels sorry about it and more time is needed for this process. Khatia also added that politicans were interfering with the appointments in law enforcement agencies and urged them not to do so any more.

Dekanoidze has been working for various government agencies of Georgia since 1999. She was Director of Policy Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from May 2007 to May 2012 and Director of National Examination Center from May 2012 to July 2012, when she was appointed Minister of Education and Science, succeeding Dimitri Shashkin. She remained in this position until October 25, 2012. On November 4, 2015 she was appointed as Chief of Ukrainian National Police.
