Ukraine’s Defense Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov believes that Ukrainian missiles produced at the State Kyiv Design Bureau Luch are better than the analogue weapon of Russian Federation. Turchynov stated this during his visit to the enterprise, as Ukraine’s Security and Defense Council press service reports.
“For us, it is crucial that Luch missiles do not only equal the same weapon of Russian production, but also surpass it in combat capability,” he said.
According to him, Kyiv Design Bureau Luch has become a leading developer of a wide range of modern missile systems in Ukraine.
"In Ukraine and far beyond its borders the powerful and reliable anti-tank missile complexes like Skif, Stugna, Corsar, Sarmat, Bar’er and others are well known," Turchynov noted.
The Secretary said that these missiles are effectively used at the frontline, striking precisely the armored enemy equipment, and "can break through meter-thick armor, overcoming modern security."
In addition, he stressed that the missiles of Luch enterprise have respect and demand on foreign armament markets. According to Turchynov, many missile systems were developed as soon as the Russian military aggression started in 2014, in particular on Luch enterprise.
“Then, the Ukroboronoprom had the task to restore the missile shield of our country, which was executed as soon as possible, first of all by the efforts of Luch,” Turchynov said.
The Secretary also held a meeting with the leadership of Ukroboronoprom and Luch, where, among other things, they discussed the issue of new developments of missile propulsion systems, anti-aircraft missile systems and other priority tasks necessary for solid protection of the country.
As it was reported earlier, state defense enterprise Ukroboronprom tested a renewed Ukrainian tank Т-72 АМТ. It is a modernized Т-72А series. The tank is testing all the shelling modes with different rounds, including the anti-tank guided missile Kombat. According to the developers, due to the high-accuracy weapon, it is possible to destroy the enemy armored vehicles at the distance of up to 5 km.
The shooting range of a modernized tank is twice as much as that of the previous model. The Kombat missile could pierce 750 (seven hundred fifty) millimeters of armor. The tank is also equipped with two digital radiosets with protected communication lines and modern satellite navigation means.
