The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has imposed sanctions against those involved in the opening of a "representative office" of Nicaragua in the annexed Crimea. This was announced by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov during a briefing on Wednesday, November 10.

"The next issue is the imposition of personal sanctions against those people who opened a representative office of Nicaragua in Crimea. These are eight people: four citizens of Nicaragua and four citizens of the Russian Federation," he said.

As we reported, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine strongly protests against the illegal open of the Honorary Consulate of Nicaragua in annexed Crimea.

“The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine expresses the strong protest due to the illegal and not agreed with Ukraine visit of the ambassador of Nicaragua in the Russian Federation Alba Azucena Torres to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine to hand consular patent to so-called honorary consul of  Nicaragua in Russia with the residency in Simferopol Oleg Belaventsev,” the message said.

The ministry assured that they warned Nicaragua repeatedly about the inadmissibility of actions that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
