The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine has imposed restrictive sanctions against the MERE chain of stores - now it cannot operate in Ukraine. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov during a briefing.
"Sanctions have been applied to MERE company. It will not be able to work in our country after the National Security and Defense Council meeting," Danilov said.
Danilov said that now the only city in Ukraine where MERE still operates is Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region.
Asked about the closure of supermarkets, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council added that "they work in the Crimea, and that is why they came under our sanctions."
The meeting of the National Security and Defense Council took place on Friday, October 15. For the first time in history, the Plan of Defense of Ukraine was approved.
In addition, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has imposed sanctions against 237 citizens involved in the elections to the Russian State Duma on the territory of occupied Donbas and the occupied Crimea.
