Ukrainian soldier Oleksiy Kyrychenko was released today. He had been in the militant captivity since august 2014.

Kyrychenko participated in the battle for Savur Mohyla, a strategically important hill near the Russo-Ukrainian border, and overlooks the villages of Dmytrivka and Marynivka. The Ukrainian soldiers were surrounded and had been defending the hill for 12 days when told to retreat on the night of August 25, 2014. After that, Kyrychenko was ambushed by the “DNR” militants and captured. He was the last fighter from that division of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to be released.
