Decision on measures to counter Russia’s information aggression approved

Decree of the President of Ukraine comes into force from the day of its publication

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of January 26, 2018 "On additional measures to counter information aggression of the Russian Federation." The relevant decree of 9 February 2018 was made public on Friday on the president’s website.

The decision of the Security Council, put into effect by this decree, is attached, but for official use.

The decree of the President of Ukraine comes into force from the day of its publication. Control over the implementation of the relevant decision is entrusted to Council’s Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov.

As it was reported earlier the European Union plans to strengthen the fight against Russian propaganda and allocate one million euros for these purposes. The source claims that the funds for combating Russian propaganda will be budgeted for 2018-2020. It is about allocating 1 million euros annually.

The information on the financing of the media company from Russia appeared after the head of the European Council Donald Tusk at the Eastern Partnership summit stated that one of the main problems of Europe are cyberattacks, fake news and hybrid war.
