Death of Ukrainian MP Tymchuk: Criminal proceeding opened

Police opened a criminal proceeding on the case of death of Ukrainian MP Dmytro Tymchuk under the article “Premeditated murder”, as Head of National Police Sergiy Knyazev said, the press office of the establishment reported.

He noted that that the message on the death was received today at 12:15 pm. A criminal proceeding under the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on premeditated murder was opened.

According to the Head of National Police, the diseased had a head injury.

“I don’t know the number of shots, experts are revising. There is a set of working versions – accident, careless exploitation of firearm. Besides, we consider some criminal versions. There is a citizen who has been in the apartment together with him, she is testifying now. We are questioning the neighbors. We are checking the apartment,” Knyazev said.

He added that all the rest of the information will be provided later when the police officers will finish the inspection of the accident site.

“For now, an investigation group of Kyiv police is working, Andriy Kryshchenko is at the site. The leadership of the Prosecutor’s Office of the city will arrive at the site soon. We affirm the fact of the death of the MP,” Knyazev said.
