An employee of Zaporizhia regional infectional hospital was suspected of violating safety rules, as a result of which four people died. This was reported by the press service of Ukraine's National Police.
This person is suspected of committing criminal offenses that are qualified as a violation of the established fire safety requirements and a violation of safety rules during work with increased danger.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the employee, violated the requirements of Art. 15 of the Law of Ukraine "On labor protection" and did not stop the equipment for performing work with increased danger, which created a threat to the life and health of people. As a result, on February 3, during the oxygen therapy, a fire broke out, which led to the death of three patients and the anesthesiologist.
If a man is found guilty, he faces restriction of liberty for up to five years or imprisonment for up to eight years with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
As we reported earlier, on the night of February 4, the fire occurred in the regional infectious hospital of Zaporizhia.
The flame was spotted at the five-storied building at 23:25. The eyewitnesses reported intense smoke; however, a flame was not observed.
Four people died as a result of the incident.
In Zaporizhia region, February 5 is announced a mourning day for patients and a doctor who died.
