Ukraine marks the Day of Ukrainian Navy today. It is annually celebrated since 2015 on the first Monday of July.

General Staff head and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko, in his congratulation speech noted that the military marines demonstrate high national consciousness, dedication and the desire to bring Ukrainian fleet to a new level.

Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said that three years ago after the redeployment to the mainland, Ukrainian fleet was able to regroup in a short time. Military seamen proved that they are ready to defend Ukraine with all their might.

"At the present time, the Ukraine’ Army, including the Navy, are being reformed. In international drills, foreign partners have repeatedly noted that Ukrainian marines are well-trained. The professionalism and courage of marines and coastal artillerymen have been proven during performing of complex tasks in the zone Anti-Terrorist Operation zone. Thank you for your courage in fulfilling your patriotic duty. I believe that our ships will continue to carry the yellow-blue flag, "Poltorak said.

This year, the 25th anniversary of creation of the Ukraine’s Navy is marked.

As it was reported earlier Russia attacked Ukrainian Navy aircraft near Odesa. Ukrainian plane An-26 received hull damage, the crew wasn’t hurt.
